Boab Prison Tree

Thought to be around 1,500 years old, with a girth of almost 15 metres. During a visit to this registered Aboriginal you will learn about the tree’s significance to the local Aboriginal people and its importance in the story of the early European settlers in the Kimberley.

Windjana Gorge

This is one of the Kimberley’s most stunning gorges, with water-streaked walls that rise majestically to heights of 100 metres. Part of a 375 million-year-old Devonian reef system. Windjana Gorge is over three kilometres long. The Lennard River runs through the gorge in wet weather, but during the dry season it forms pools surrounded by trees and shrubs. Freshwater crocodiles can be seen sunning themselves on the banks, fruit bats and corellas roost in the waterside trees and fossils can be spotted on the gorge walls. Windjana Gorge is a highly spiritual place to Bunuba people and the Wandjina are the powerful creation spirits that reside here.

Tunnel Creek

Tunnel Creek National Park is Western Australia’s oldest cave system. Be prepared to get wet as we walk the 750 metres through the tunnel’s freshwater pools to the other side of the Napier Ranges. Its an amazing subterranean world of bats and fresh water crocodiles. Here you will learn the legendary story of the freedom fighter Jandamarra. Half way through the tunnel a hole in the ceiling makes for a stunning photo and a great spot to observe the resident bats.

The Gibb River Road

This legendary 660-kilometre stock route was originally built for droving cattle from Wyndham to Derby.

Today, it’s an epic adventure touring the Kimberley’s magnificent gorges, authentic outback cattle stations, ancient Indigenous culture and captivating pioneering history. There is also plenty of wildlife to enjoy.

One of the world’s great adventure trips, a tour along ‘The Gibb’ is never to be forgotten. The first 70 kilometres of the Gibb are sealed, then it’s 4WD all the way! Our vehicles are ideally suited to this challenging road and your driver has had training and years of experience in driving on unsealed roads – so sit back, soak up the view and enjoy the adventure.

Horizontal Waterfalls

There are only two waterfalls in the world that run horizontally and both of them are at Talbot Bay, a short flight northeast of Broome. Described by David Attenborough as ‘one of the greatest natural wonders of the world’, the Horizontal Falls, or ‘Horries’ as they are affectionately known to Broome locals, should be on everyone’s bucket list.

They provide a perfect demonstration of the awesome power of the Kimberley’s huge ten-meter tides. Your Horizontal Falls tour will include swooping over them in a light aircraft and powering through them in a boat; an experience that will excite the senses and will stay with you for a lifetime.

Dampier Peninsula

Stretching 220km north of Broome along the partly unsealed Cape Leveque Road, the Dampier Peninsula is a unique and pristine area of outstanding beauty, rich in history and culture. Some of the best spots on the peninsula include Pender Bay and Cape Leveque. This is a country with small Aboriginal Communities on Native Title Land and Australia’s oldest operating pearl farm. As we tour the Dampier Peninsula through we respect the land, culture and privacy of the local people. Wildlife

The Kimberley is teaming with wildlife. Around the coast there is plenty of birdlife including majestic sea eagles and osprey.

From the beaches you can spot humpback whales on their seasonal migration as well as dolphins, turtles and manta rays. On your Kimberley inland tour you can spot Kangaroos, emu, brolgas, frilled necked lizards and goanna. The Kimberley is also famous for its crocs! Both freshwater and saltwater crocodiles call the Kimberley home with the later growing up to 6m.

Bungle Bungles

Unknown to all but the Aboriginal people until the mid-80s, the most striking of geological landmarks in Western Australia is Purnululu National Park (The Bungle Ranges) World Heritage Site. Nothing can prepare you for the majestic beauty of the 300m tall beehive domes. Our tour of the Bungles will include a walk though Echidna Chasm and the majestic Cathedral Gorge. If that isn’t enough for you there is no better way to experience the vastness of the area than an amazing helicopter flight over the bungles that will never disappoint.

Geikie Gorge

The mighty Fitzroy River has shaped this part of the Kimberley and the resulting gorges help to make our Kimberley 4WD tours so special. None more so than Geikie Gorge. We join the local rangers for a tour of Geikie Gorge, spotting crocs and other Kimberley wildlife on the river banks and learning about Aboriginal Dreamtime stories of the area.

Beagle Bay Church

Our tours of the Dampier Peninsula include a visit to the famous white heritage listed Beagle Bay Church. Sacred Heart Church was built by German Pallottine preists and local indigenous people in the early 1900s and resembles a classic German village church. It is famous for its shimmering pearl shell interior and alter.

Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm

200kms from Broome, our tour of the Cape Leveque road takes us to Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm. This is the home of the Australian cultured pearl, a working pearl farm where we will learn about the history and secrets of the industry. We will enjoy an exclusive boat tour where you will learn about the famous West Kimberley 10m tides and how they are crucial to the pearl farming process. You will also have the option to purchase pearls direct from the waters in which they were farmed.

Yeeda Station

For outback history, genuine outback hospitality and a landscape full of amazing plants and animals our station stays with Yeeda are hard to beat. Settled in 1881, Yeeda is a working cattle station 160kms east of Broome, encompassing the Fitzroy River mouth and vast coastal floodplains. After a station tour to learn about the land, we stay in the luxury safari tents and enjoy a hearty outback meal round the campfire and under that stars.
